Some musings on Ethan Embry/Randall (thanks Molly for the correction)
He was likable in Empire Records. He was likeable in Can't Hardly Wait. He was likable in White Squall. If I remember correctly, he was not likable in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. Nevertheless, I think things average out so that he is intensely likable, and I desperately want him to be my friend.
Hooray!

You know, my own personal crush on Ethan Embry (wasn't his original last name Randall?) began during the film "A Far Off Place," in which he has to cross the Kalahari desert with his co-star, a very young Reese Witherspoon. He was so cute, and he was even clever enough to fashion her a stunning animal hide shirt using only the natural resources immediately available to him. What a dreamboat!

When I read this post, I searched my brain for why I love Ethan Embry. Then I remembered: "That Thing You Do," in which he is the Wonders' bass player. (The character, oddly, doesn't have a name, and if I remember correctly, he's listed as "T.B. Player" in the end credits.)
